An East Coast Bridal Shower

I was back east the other weekend to throw my soon to be SIL a bridal shower! It was a beautiful day and we had about thirty guests! It was held at the Hershey Pantry, Hershey PA.

Now, lets get to all the pretty pink details!
When we arrived, they had the napkins folded like this...not exactly what I wanted but we didn't have the time to redo all of them. We placed the favor packets and place cards at each setting.

Affordable and delicate... pink daises were placed on all the tables! Tiny bling confetti (found at Pier One) were placed around the small votive candles which softened the tables.

I wanted to make a "wishing " tree and went to the florist to pick up some manzanita branches when she offered to rent me this blinged out tree ready to go! I couldn't say no! Saved me time and money! I purchased one yard of soft pink fabric to wrap around the bottom.  It turned out super nice!

An up-close shot, I found these monogram labels template over at Martha Stewart. I printed them on a pearl white and two shades of pink cardstock. Light pink ribbon finished them off! I also placed two strands of crystals on the branches.

Sweet notes of love were placed on all the cards from our guests. It looked sooo pretty! Here is a picture of the bride to be and her wishing tree :)

I created the placecards with a friend who has a cricut! We created three different sized daisy shapes and placed a pink gem in the middle. They turned out adorable! A bit time consuming but worth every second. From a previous post, I created seed packets as the favors. Instead of using seeds we placed a tea bag instead. You can find the template here. Again, everything came together so nicely.

One of my favorite details were the pink straws I snatched them up over at The Party Fairy. Tons of compliments and I had a few left over to enjoy for myself :)  The citrus water was delicious by the way!

I am not a huge fan of of the traditional "bridal shower" games so I went on a hunt for something simple, fast and different. I came across these scratch off cards over at Nifty Pear. Everyone appeared to really enjoy it and we had a couple winners in the mix! The cards were truly adorable and perfectly matched our theme of pink daisies!

About three months ago I was shopping in Anthropologie and found five bottles of hand sanitizers placed in burlap bags. I added some pink ribbon and oh my they were cute! They smelled super good too! "Pure & Good" were written on the bag. I found them in pink and an olive green. Original price $7 and I got them for $2.50 a piece! What a deal...!!

A spring salad was served and then a three tiered plate of different sandwiches was placed in the middle of the table for our guests to choose from. For dessert, a bar full of a variety of sweets! Chocolate covered strawberries, lemon squares, mini apple pies, variety of cupcakes and more!

I couldn't resist a beautiful pink bouquet...so I had the florist create a little something for the bride to be as a gift..The pink hydrangeas were gorgeous!

What a great day it was and we are looking forward to the wedding!
Congratulations Samantha!

Some Details...

This past Sunday was my amazing bridal shower which was held at my favorite cafe back in PA. The BMs asked all guests to wear black & white! Soon as I walked in...I was seriously taken back...all the details...pictures...candles..fresh flowers...the cake!!! I only have a few pictures to share at this time...hopefully more will roll in later this week from friends!

The saying "Eat Drink and be Married" was on everything! My Mother told me she loved our cocktail napkins so much she wanted to carry it throughout our shower..and so did the Bm's!

The first detail.....They had a booklet at every place setting.

Guests filled out questions about the Bride & Groom!

Traditional gift bingo!

Cute saying...on the last page!

A delicious cookie was also placed at each setting..with an adorable matching tag!

MY CAKE!!! Here is a good picture!! It was delicious :)

I still can't believe I am back in Los Angeles!!! That weekend flew by but it was one memorable bridal shower. Thank you Mom and my lovely Bridesmaids!!

Cake Slice Boxes

Has anyone had any type of experience with cake boxes? I came across Crafty Kauzi's Paper Bakery and was intrigued! They share many pictures of different paper cakes that have been created and they can pretty much design anything you want.

Here are a couple to show...to give you the idea...

They have clear cake boxes as well...

My favorite, which could be adorable for a bridal shower, are purse boxes...

I have a bridal shower to plan for next spring and I am just getting my feelers out there..So, Ladies!! Have any of you worked with Crafty Kauzi's Paper Bakery or a similar company?
If so, were you happy with everything? Did guests have positive things to say?!

Jones!

I love anything personalized...it makes that "something" a whole lot more special!   As I have mentioned before, I am planning a bridal shower next spring and I always want to do a perfect job! So, I have been pondering on several ideas.  Then I came across the Jones Soda bottles over at TheKnot.

I like how it serves as a placecard and favor.  The ideas are endless! So, I figured why not take a gander and check out the details.  The site is extremely user friendly. There are currently eleven flavors and several colors to match any wedding/event theme. I also checked out the prices. Currently, it is $29.99/12pack & $16.99/6pack. If you had 150 guests, it would cost approx $375 + shipping. Not sure if I would have spent this much for our wedding but for a bridal shower, this just might be an option.

Did you go this route for your wedding or event? Did everything turn out great?! Any suggestions!!?

A Pink Shower Soiree!

This past weekend I attended my friend Vanessa's bridal shower.  It was held at Joseph Filippi Winery and Vineyards in Rancho Cucamonga. The day started off cloudy but then the sun came out it and it turned out to be a beautiful day!

Pink, pink and more pink! So lets get started with some details!

Each table setting had a vase filled with pink hearts and glass pebbles. Fresh flowers sat atop and looked beautiful. Pink pebbles and wedding word confetti were scattered around... along with a  bottle of champagne!

Each guest was given a champagne glass from the winery. They were filled with yummy pink jelly beans!

At each place setting sat a wine cork holding a variety of beautiful quotes...click to enlarge.

The strawberry water...was seriously delicious and refreshing!

My favorite part was the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches!
I loved the three tiered crystal stand.

Some delicious yummy desserts!

Strawberries.....what a creative way to display and serve them to your guests.

And now..some pictures of us ladies! The beautiful bride is wearing bright blue!

They even decorated the tall plants in the background..
This is the bridal party!

It was such a beautiful day to celebrate! Congratulations Vanessa!

Our Wedding- The Invitations-Final Product!

I just realized that I never shared the final product of our invitations! My good friend and bridal attendant Teresa designed my beautiful stationary. Right from the beginning I wanted something simple and cheap to mail! We started the design process back in the Fall of 08! Every time I would fly home, Teresa and I would meet up! Oh, it was so much fun!

Did you notice how the invitations match the placecards, programs and the seating chart? :)
I LOVED how it all matched!!

Here are a couple of pictures of our reply postcard.

They had three meal choices...each represented by a cute little graphic!

I received everything
the weekend of my amazing bridal shower and bachelorette party! I put a few together to personally handout at the shower. I just couldn't wait to show them to everyone! Here are a couple of shots of my mini work station! I had to make space and move my Mothers decorative stuff out of the way :)

To jazz the invite up a knotch, I added a black band around the invite. I went to Michaels and purchased black cardstock and cut several strips! It also held the invite and reply card together.

In the end, they were exactly what I wanted! I have several left over and I think I may just make a couple of ornaments for this Christmas! I posted this DIY project back in April (wow, time goes by fast!!) and thought it was such a cute idea!

Lessons learned? I might have added an additional card with lodging info/directions. We had several phone calls from those guests who do not use a computer! We did put together a wedding website with tons of information. We had several hits a day..and tons of sweet messages :) BTW, I totally recommend setting a web page up for your guests!

Below, is a picture of the talented Teresa and Moi!

Guest Book

I just had to add something else from my amazing weekend! Everyone at the shower signed in on a gorgeous guest book/photo album! I can't wait to get some pictures to throw in there from my special weekend! What a beautiful monogram...and lovely green ribbon...

These Ladies had taken care of every detail! The best part...the bridal shower was on my Fiance's birthday! Definitely a date we won't forget!

Our Wedding: Out of Town Guest Bags

We were so proud of our OOT guest bags that I had to do post on them! I hope all of our guests enjoyed all the goodies and it put a little smile on their face :) Thursday prior to our wedding we put about 46 bags together.

Here is a picture of a finish bag! I attached a tag with our monogram with ribbon and put a little note on the back of them. My amazing bridesmaid made the tags for me! It said "Eat. Drink. Be Married." on the bottom which went along with the bridal shower theme and of course my cocktail napkins!

We did an assembly line and actually had fun! It only took about 25 minutes from start to finish.

Costco and the Paper Factory greatly helped us out. I had an idea of what I wanted to include but figured it would be up to whatever Costco had on the shelves!

This is what we included:
2 Bottles of water
1 Hershey's Chocolate Bar (We grew up in Hershey, PA)
5 Strawberry Twizzlers
3 Mini variety bags of chips ( purchased boxes of "assorted")
1 Pack of gum

We really wanted just black bags but they didn't have enough! Then we went with white...and a couple green to complete the amount we needed. Each bag cost about 70 cents! Honestly I can't remember how much all the food/water cost. Below is a picture of completion!

We had a lot of mini bags, twizzlers and water left over on purpose. Our bridal party were able to snack on these leftovers between events on our wedding day. I know us Ladies did! In the end, I'm really glad we did the bags for our guests. We really appreciated them staying overnight and spending the day with us.

Looking at these pictures make me sad! Our wedding weekend went way too fast! Can we have a do over?

Our Wedding: Rehearsal

On May 29th there were several storms passing through town and by the time our rehearsal began all the rain had vanished! We were able to complete an outside run through of the ceremony!

Below, is where our ceremony took place.

This is a picture of the venue, Boulder Ridge. Our guests simply strolled over to the building for cocktails and appetizers.

Here is a picture of us all lined up and going thru the ceremony. I loved the white chairs!

My brother practicing his reading. I was so proud of him..he did an amazing job! Even during the rehearsal I soaked up every minute!

I LOVE this picture below...me holding onto to my soon to be Husband!

Our rehearsal ended up being so much fun! It was the first time I saw many of the bridal party and family since our bridal shower in March. I am also so happy we were able to capture some shots of rehearsal day!
