Let the Count Down Begin!

We are officially on Valentines Day countdown!

It made me flip through our Dates on a Dime book! I am seriously loving these ideas!

1.Use sidewalk chalk to declare your love; When you stroll through town or down a paved trail, leave a testament of your love by etching your initials into a heart. As you make your way home on the same path, stop and kiss at each marker you've created.

2. Picnic at the beach or at a romantic spot nearby. Burn tea lights at your site, setting them in clear baby food jars or other windproof containers. Don't forget the matches!

3. Using your best china, dine by candlelight at home. Remember to keep it simple: serve a meal from the grocer's freezer case.

Okay, I think im loving choice 3!!! That is soo up my alley! I love my little Dates On A Dime book! Pick up your copy right HERE!

Gorgeous!

I just came across a new favorite photographer and wedding! I love the jewel tones used (yay purple) and how they incorporated the peacock feather...

Beautiful jewelry...beautiful flowers...

Just a hint of peacock...

I am seriously in love with the luscious purple bouquets!

Possibly hand stamped boxes? Look at that gorgeous cake!

Take A Stand!

That is, against texting and using a hand-held cell phone while driving. I caught an excellent episode of Oprah the other night and she shared several tragic stories. The drivers were sending texts messages or using a hand-held device.

Yes, I am guilty of this! On a very serious note, I feel incredibly lucky that I have not caused an accident or worse a death. We take a lot of chances simply driving on the road everyday..why raise the stakes?

There are only 6 states that do not allow hand-held cell phone and 19 states which prohibit texting, which simply amazes me! I live in California and both are a major NO NO! We are allowed to use a blue tooth or hands free device. But I still see tons of drivers on the major highways holding up the phone to their ear... The fines are outrageous as well!

I also highly recommend clicking on over to Oprahs website to listen to stories of families who have lost loved ones due to drivers texting while driving! It is a 15min segment. It will seriously make you think the next time you grab your phone on the road.

What are the rules for your State?! Click on over HERE, Very informative!

TAKE THE PLEDGE!

I have taken the pledge! No more texting while driving! Hands-free ONLY! Please join me in this serious matter! Click on over HERE to pledge!

I usually do not post topics like this, but I felt like it was really important to spread this information. Please comment on your opinions...thoughts... I highly encourage those to watch the segment off Oprah's website.

New Years Eve Wedding

When we got engaged...we never gave thought to having a New Years Eve wedding. First, we live on the east coast, so we didn't want to deal with the cold weather and the snow.. but as I think more about it...it definitely would have been an awesome idea. One of my girlfriends told me the other day that they would be planning a NYE wedding and it made me think of this wedding that was just covered by Hazelnut Photography this past new years... Think how much fun the reception would be!!

You would need tons of champagne!

There would be tons of kissing!

You would definitely capture some goofy moments!

Confetti...horns...hats..is a must!

Fun Fun!

My Mother and I have been planning my birthday party these past couple of days...It will be a small affair..filled with all of my close friends and family who we never get to see! I must admit..it feels good planning something again!

First, I met with Jasmine from Sprinkles and Swirls! She was fantastic and brought along a couple of samplings of cupcakes! Yummy! My favorite was probably the dark chocolate with mint chocolate frosting... She is located near Harrisburg Pa. You must check out her website and her new wedding blog! I am very anxious to hear back about her ideas for my dessert table!

Next, I ordered my cute invites from Ink Obsessions! I have been posting some possibilites and finally decided on one! It is fun, modern and I think darn right perfect! Erin was super easy to work with and they have already been shipped to me! Don't worry I will take some pictures of them soon as I get my mits on them!

Then, I have been pondering... About three years ago my Husband and I went to Mexico for a vacation..and met a honeymoon couple. They were telling us all about the dos and don'ts, of their wedding day...I soaked up all the advice! There was one little detail that definitely stuck in my head, which was the photofetti they purchased for the dinner rehearsal. They said it was a huge success and people loved the idea...It is basically little confetti but with pictures of the groom/bride put on them. They did pictures of them as babies...up to present day. Below gives you an idea...

Has anyone heard of this company or ordered some...? Were you happy with the result? Should I splurge a little for this detail? Hmm.. the smallest order is $25.95 plus S&H. Putting me just over $30... The other details I was planning on doing were small glass vases holding two stems of pink flowers on each table.. I am keeping it simple but fun!

So...yay or nay?

Regardless I am just so anxious to see all of my friends! It is soo tough living on opposite coasts! Anybody else have a birthday coming up?!
