Our Wedding- My Dress

As many of you read one week prior to our wedding, I was informed that my wedding dress was destroyed at the cleaners! Well long story short the boutique in town had my dress (they ordered it in for me over a year ago and I ended up not purchasing it because I got it 50% off in LA) and the cleaners bought it off the rack for me and it was in amazing shape... So, here are some beautiful shots of my gown! So Whew!

These are my favorite!

Saturday is THE day!

Today's post will be my last one till next week!! I have been incredibly busy putting together programs...making out of town guest bags..ugh...today was a pretty bad day...it all caught up to me!

I finally got my dress back..and it fits great! I think I was at the seamstress about 5 times since Sunday..to today.. I was a bit worried..that she wasn't going to be able to pull it off..considering how many times I had to go back...Some of you may not know..but just a quick recap-the laundry cleaners (who specialize in wedding gowns) destroyed my gown! Thank goodness the store nearby...had my dress..or otherwise I'd be out looking for a new one because its not a new design...like 4 seasons ago :)

Yesterday I was at Michaels craft store and found the cutest photo prop ever! It only cost me 5.99!!! I can't wait to show you!! Also, our Reverend told us that we should practice our "kiss." I was like what? It should be PG rated and done slowly for photo opportunities!! I had to laugh..but it is the truth! I thought this couple did a good job! Good News/ Bad News

Soon as I landed in PA...I was anxious to get my hands on the placecards! I had them delivered to my parents house from the office of Penned & Pretty! They turned out gorgeous and I'm anxious to use them!!! So, of course I had to take some pictures :)

Now, onto some bad news...but don't worry it ends good :) Last evening..driving home from the airport, my Mother says... "OHH I have to tell you something!" in a "you will never believe this" tone. Long story short..the drycleaners destroyed my gown...not exactly sure of the details..I guess the silk had all this black ash like substance on it....They informed my Mother that this has never ever happend before! and...somehow they found the EXACT dress in Hershey, PA in my size...bought it off the rack for me and tomorrow I have my fitting!!! Now please keep in mind I am getting married next weekend. Deep breath! Also the dress and alterations are being covered. WHEW! wow, my friends that is the definition of LUCK :)

I was told there is always "something" that goes wrong..or happends with your wedding..I'm hoping that is my "something!"

Shoes!! Part 1

So, I really wanted to be one of those brides with bright colored shoes under the dress...but the fact is...since my dress sports a little color...it would totally take away from the elegance of the dress.. BUT! Since I am wearing a 2nd dress, which will be worn during the reception..I figured that was my chance.

After months of looking....I did come across several gorgeous pairs of heels...the only problem is...the heel would be too high or too $$! Since I am a therapist...I strut in a pair of nice New Balance sneakers daily...for years! High heel shoes..well haven't always been my best friend. We really don't get along that well... especially at the end of the evening... I was not about to have that ordeal during one of the most memorable days in my life :)

The searching came to a halt...when I stepped into DSW Shoes...and tried on several pairs of Nina Shoes...and soon as I saw these cuties I was sold... They were a nice height and they had an adorable little bow. When I tried on my 2nd dress at the store, the assistant told me to throw on a pair of black heels...and I did...and I was sold...black heels actually made the dress so stylish!

Are you going with the latest trend? Color heels?

Reception Attire..For the Bride!

I always thought a two dress bride was crazy...I changed my mind instantly....I found a dress from BCBG! After putting on my traditional wedding dress I realized I think I would like a shorter white dress that is easy to dance in yet lets everyone know that I am the bride!! Plus, it gives me more opportunity for photos!!! I was coming up empty handed and kinda just put it on the back burner. About 2 weeks later I went window shopping and came across BCBG Maxazria and couldn't resist checking out their new season of dresses. It was then I had a quick flash back to a General Hospital episode.

Are you a General Hospital fan? I am! Since Middle School days!! Anyways, I saw a wedding dress in one episode. Character Kate was trying on a dress and her ladies were adjusting it and adding jewerly to her..etc...and I thought to myself.."Oh my! That dress is sooo pretty!" I thought it was so modern yet had a soft touch. Well my fellow bloggers...friends..family... Kate was wearing a BCBG dress. The manager came over and I told her about my General Hospital dress..... "Oh, this is the dress that Kate wore!" I'm like are you serious?!!? So, I quickly made a dash for the dressing room! It fit me like a glove and it made me feel so beautiful. It actually makes me look very tall! I get to wear black heels with it too!!! I immediately called my Mother and told her all about it! I went online and pulled up the dress ...and sent her the link. I was very dissapointed with what I saw. These pictures do not show how truely beautiful it is.

BCBG

When I flew home back in September I took the dress with me. When I put it on to show my parents my Mom even said how it looks 10 times better in person then online. This also goes to show...TRY ON EVERYTHING at those bridal stores...everything looks different on!

Did you have 2 dresses? How did it work out? I must say, I am in love with both!
