What to Wear?

What to wear...it can definitely be the most stressful part of your engagement or family shoot. I'm an avid reader of Hazelnut Photography's blog and had to share this great post! Da Fashionista shared some great tips for "What to wear on your engagement shoot!!"

My favorite tidbit is to wear nude heels because they will lengthen your legs!

Speaking of shoots...I just came across Missy and Chads shoot!

The wedding date was written on the mug..sneaky!

Lastly, my favorite...

Cotton Fields

When I saw these two photos over on J&J Photography Facebook page my jaw dropped! I sooo want to have my picture taken in a cotton field!! How beautiful are these shots? The furniture adds such perfect detail to the pictures!

I mean...if my Husband doesn't want to go...It can just be me!!

An Engagement Party

Our friends, Andrew & Vanessa recently became engaged! This past weekend the brides family hosted a beachy engagement soiree! Here is a picture right after he proposed and she said YES!!

The wedding date banner was posted up high for all to see!

Look at this delicious yummy cake!

It was such a lovely party with tons of family and friends!

Each table centerpiece were either a tall or short vase filled with floating candles and goldfish.

My favorite special touch of the evening was the "advice" tree.

Can't pass up some yummy personalized M&Ms!

Here is a picture of the ring dish I ordered specially for the bride to be! I couldn't believe how my gift fit perfectly with the theme! I unfortunately do not have a picture of the actual dish..
If interested in ordering one click on over to Say Your Piece.

**Vanessa sent me a pic of her ring resting nicely in her beautiful dish!! At the time they did not have a date set so I used their engagement date**

They had the most delicious food cratered from Spaghetti Eddie's for the evening.

Near the end of the night they play the pre-newlywed game. It was hilarious!

Thank You to the MOB for allowing me to share these photos!

Andrew and Vanessa, congratulations on your engagement!
We are excited for July 30, 2011!!!

A Friend's Engagement Shots

Remember those Save the Dates & Invitations? Well, they belong to my friends...Anna & Josh! They just got their engagement shots back!
Thought I would share some of my favorites :)

The picture below is one of my favorites! It has some of "The Notebook" feel.

Who doesn't love a little black and white?

A picture with a little attitude...they rocked this one!

He is just taking her in....love it!

They have two adorable pups...and they had to make an appearance!

Anna & Josh, we are very excited for your big day in July! Your pictures turned out beautiful!

A Traditional Engagement

This past weekend we were honored to be invited to a Dam Hoi, an engagement party for our friends Anna and Josh. Everything about the day was carried out by years and years of tradition. Most of us had no idea what to expect which made it all more exciting! Josh invited 8 friends to participate in the ceremony. We all lined up carrying gifts and food.

Us ladies each carried one of these gift trays into the house...all of Anna's family were lined up welcoming us into their home.

Anna's family is lined up on the left, Josh's and us were lined up on the right side. Josh's parents flew in from PA for this big day! Kind words were exchanged with each family welcoming each other into their lives.

Anna then made her entrance in a gorgeous pink and gray gown which is called an Ao Dai. She was absolutely glowing!

Then, Josh got down on one knee and proposed to Anna in front of everyone! It was so innocent and a moment I'm sure Anna and Josh will never forget.

I love this picture...shows exactly what they were feeling!

Of course I had to go off and take some shots of all the gorgeous flowers!
Anna received a bouquet (yellow is their wedding color)!

They had several desserts offered but this cake was so cute!

We enjoyed our time and the experience! There is something to be said about tradition....does it make the moment feel even more special...? Nonetheless, I hold high respect for those families who stay true to who they are and where they come from.

Anna & Josh, thank you so much for allowing us to be apart of your special day! We are looking forward to your wedding day!

Cute picture to end the post...
