Rehearsal Dinner Details!

Along with my parents, we threw the dinner rehearsal for my brother's wedding. It was held at the Holiday Inn, Harrisburg, Pa. Here is a picture of the room.. Considering we never saw a picture of the room we totally lucked out and the colors we choose matched perfectly! I just couldn't believe how well everything came together! The room was set up different for the dinner.

 A while back I remember Jessica's centerpieces (Tying the Knot) and thought how perfect they would be for the dinner! So, I snatched up 5 square cube vases, 3 large and 2 small. The vases were pricey, if I would have had an IKEA nearby or had more time to search I would have been able to save $$. Besides that, the rest of the supplies were cheap!

I believe we placed three floating candles in the vase and two votives on either side. I saved the votive candles from the bridal shower and were able to use them again!  A red wine ribbon was wrapped and twisted around and super glue held it in place. I believe the ribbon width was approx 1 inch.

Above, is a picture of the smaller vase. I took this picture while we were setting up... I placed a white candle in the middle versus filling it with water. Again, the same set up with the two votive candles along with two monogram cards of which I have yet to mention. I found them FREE! over at Wedding Chicks, click HERE to take a look at them. You are able to choose from a variety of colors as well to match your theme for your event. Here is a picture of the one I created!

The centerpieces were just enough for this type of event. With all the candles lit, the room instantly warmed up. Everyone was really impressed with the monogram...if they only knew it took me 5 minutes to whip up! This will be our secret!

The night before the rehearsal, my friend Danielle came over and taught me how to bake some delicious white chocolate cupcakes and create tiny fondant flowers for that extra detail! I definitely learned alot and it was such a great time spending time with my friend!

We tried to match up the ribbon color to the fondant..and got to work! It is definitely time consuming but was totally worth it! Here is a quick pic of the cupcakes in action before all the food was brought out.

So, as I said earlier, we couldn't believe how the room matched the colors! The dark maroon chairs to the table skirts...we were just in shock! Oh and here is a picture of the invitations I put together for the rehearsal. I had tons of people come up to me and compliment how adorable they were..since we were having pasta I figured these would be perfect...  I chose silver envelopes with Martha Stewart wrap around labels.

Back from the East Coast!

Wow, those two weeks flew by! I have much to share...all in good time! 

We managed to get our annual picture on the Hershey Bar!!

2nd Anniversary!

Okay, so I'm one day late...oopps! 

Wow, did those two years fly by.... seriously! The Husband and I have a mini getaway planned for next week when we return back to the East Coast! We will be heading to Philadelphia for a photo shoot with the talented Amanda from SwoonOverIt! (Super excited to meet her!)

I also let my Husband know that we need to add to our collection... (look below) maybe a chocolate syrup bottle would look nice along side our chocolate bar? Make it a fun little ritual...Chocolate World! We will see! We don't have anything big planned like last year..maybe for our 3 year we will be living in our OWN house back on the East Coast? :) Then we can throw a nice party.. hmmm!!!

We have definitely grown a whole bunch these past two years! I am so looking forward to the next couple and what it has in store for us! And to end this post... some lovely wedding hoopla pictures!!

On Ellen-Best Marriage Proposal

I was watching Ellen yesterday and they had a couple on the show who recently became engaged.  My mouth hung open the entire time...as I was watching the proposal. Talk about planning!!  I will let you watch it for yourself!   In the end, Ellen gave them a free honeymoon!! Click here to watch!

A Pink Shower Soiree!

This past weekend I attended my friend Vanessa's bridal shower.  It was held at Joseph Filippi Winery and Vineyards in Rancho Cucamonga. The day started off cloudy but then the sun came out it and it turned out to be a beautiful day!

Pink, pink and more pink! So lets get started with some details!

Each table setting had a vase filled with pink hearts and glass pebbles. Fresh flowers sat atop and looked beautiful. Pink pebbles and wedding word confetti were scattered around... along with a  bottle of champagne! 

 

Each guest was given a champagne glass from the winery. They were filled with yummy pink jelly beans!

At each place setting sat a wine cork holding a variety of beautiful quotes...click to enlarge.

The strawberry water...was seriously delicious and refreshing!

My favorite part was the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches! 

I loved the three tiered crystal stand.

Strawberries.....what a creative way to display and serve them to your guests.

An East Coast Bridal Shower

I was back east the other weekend to throw my soon to be SIL a bridal shower! It was a beautiful day and we had about thirty guests! It was held at the Hershey Pantry, Hershey PA.

Now, lets get to all the pretty pink details!

When we arrived, they had the napkins folded like this...not exactly what I wanted but we didn't have the time to redo all of them. We placed the favor packets and place cards at each setting.

Affordable and delicate... pink daises were placed on all the tables! Tiny bling confetti (found at Pier One) were placed around the small votive candles which softened the tables.

I wanted to make a "wishing " tree and went to the florist to pick up some manzanita branches when she offered to rent me this blinged out tree ready to go! I couldn't say no! Saved me time and money! I purchased one yard of soft pink fabric to wrap around the bottom.  It turned out super nice!

An up-close shot, I found these monogram labels template over at Martha Stewart. I printed them on a pearl white and two shades of pink cardstock. Light pink ribbon finished them off! I also placed two strands of crystals on the branches.

Sweet notes of love were placed on all the cards from our guests. It looked sooo pretty! Here is a picture of the bride to be and her wishing tree :)

I created the placecards with a friend who has a cricut! We created three different sized daisy shapes and placed a pink gem in the middle. They turned out adorable! A bit time consuming but worth every second. From a previous post, I created seed packets as the favors. Instead of using seeds we placed a tea bag instead. You can find the template here. Again, everything came together so nicely.

One of my favorite details were the pink straws I snatched them up over at The Party Fairy. Tons of compliments and I had a few left over to enjoy for myself :)  The citrus water was delicious by the way!

I am not a huge fan of of the traditional "bridal shower" games so I went on a hunt for something simple, fast and different. I came across these scratch off cards over at Nifty Pear. Everyone appeared to really enjoy it and we had a couple winners in the mix! The cards were truly adorable and perfectly matched our theme of pink daisies!

About three months ago I was shopping in Anthropologie and found five bottles of hand sanitizers placed in burlap bags. I added some pink ribbon and oh my they were cute! They smelled super good too! "Pure & Good" were written on the bag. I found them in pink and an olive green. Original price $7 and I got them for $2.50 a piece! What a deal...!!

A spring salad was served and then a three tiered plate of different sandwiches was placed in the middle of the table for our guests to choose from. For dessert, a bar full of a variety of sweets! Chocolate covered strawberries, lemon squares, mini apple pies, variety of cupcakes and more!

I couldn't resist a beautiful pink bouquet...so I had the florist create a little something for the bride to be as a gift..The pink hydrangeas were gorgeous!

What a great day it was and we are looking forward to the wedding!

Jasmine Star & THON!

As many of you know, I am a Penn State Alumni! I am also a huge fan of our annual THON! Never heard of it? Oh let me quickly explain...Largest student-run philanthropy in the world! We raise a ton of money for awareness of pediatric cancer. PSU has helped many families and has brought a large amount of joy to many children. In fact,  many of the families attend the 48 hour dance marathon and cheer on the dancers.

A couple from the Philadelphia area contacted Jasmine Star to shoot their wedding..but had something special in mind. The bride asked if they could auction off a spot for a third photographer and 100% of all proceeds go to THON!! The couple are active participants with THON and both are medical students at PennState!  Long story short, Jasmine Star said yes and now the auction has begun!  Check out a few pics of this extremely generous couple. 

This story puts such a huge smile on my face...and makes my heart happy! 

By the way..the auction bid..is up to $2500.00!!!!
