East Coast Trip

We are back east visiting family and friends! Our mission was to surprise my Father ..mission accomplished!! I wish I had a picture of his facial expression when he saw me!  Tomorrow night is his 60th birthday party so there is little time to bake tons of cupcakes and put together all the food. I'm going to be enjoying every second of it!!

Did I mention how nice it is to be home? Especially when we have little Eli Mae waiting to give us tons of love and kisses!! She is such a sweetheart!!

Family Portraits Delivered!

It was a bit windy at the beginning of the shoot...so we found a little area to get low! I believe we found the perfect spot!

 Then we pulled out some special letters!

It added such cute detail! 

I couple of tears... rolled down my cheek..this is exactly what I wanted!

Jamie, actually brought along a huge gorgeous frame... and I couldn't say no!

Then we decided to have a little bit of fun!

This next shot... was a little tricky...for some reason it was hard to be in mid-air all at the same time! :)

Planning a 60th!

My Father turns the big 60 this fall...and all he wanted was a small get together of close friends and family. I was put in charge of locating the perfect invitation! As I was on the hunt...I kept coming across dark and gloomy "over the hill" themed invites. I just wasn't feeling it! Then as I was surfing Etsy, I came across Live Creatively, Joy Liz Sage shop! She had this invite for personalization...

This is perfect! It's a little funny...cute..but definitely not depressing! I loved the bright orange too. So, I went ahead and ordered a few. Joy was incredibly easy to work with and I had proofs in my inbox within 24hours. She originally was going to email me a PDF file, but in the end her prices for printing were too good to pass up! She also created matching return address labels...yeah I couldn't pass them up either! The quality was definitely up to high standards! 

I recommend using Live Creatively and plan on using her again for future events! So click on over and check out her work!

We are having the party at our church social club. Yes, we have a bar...flat screen TV...the works at my church social hall. We plan on having appetizers and finger sandwiches along with a cake and cupcakes!  I came across these cupcake wraps..and I couldn't resist! 

You can find these over at That's A Wrap. It goes along with the construction theme! Just received them in the mail..Good quality!

Next, I came across these cookies..60 Speed Limit Sign!

These cookies were found over at i am baker. We might have cookies made just like this or put it on the cake. Regardless...I think its perfect!

Family Vacation

We had a very nice time with the family! The time went way too fast...and before you know it I'm here typing up this post! Here are some pictures from our trip!

This is the view from our beach fort!

The sand was soo nice...and we were able to ride our bikes up and down the coast. 

Look how shallow the water is! Darin is pretty far out! It was absolutely gorgeous...

Since the water was shallow...along with tiny waves..I had a blast in the ocean! I normally stay far away from the unpredictable waves..but not this time! The water was about 80 degrees...

We took lots of walks on the beach at night... the sky was gorgeous and of course we had the opportunity to get an adorable shot with the pups!

 My absolute favorite part of the trip was spending time with my parents!! It was super hard to say goodbye on saturday... SUPER hard.

It's a small world..it just so happen that my God Parents were down vacationing at the same time! So, we all went out for a good seafood dinner. It was so nice to see them!

I had to laugh when I saw this sign..."Flipflop Elegance."

On Friday night we had some family portraits done with Jamie Blow Photography. Jamie was a ton of fun and we are super excited to get some sneak peaks back! It was a bit stressful at the beginning getting my family into having this done..but at the end I got a big thank you of appreciation of getting everything together. I will definitely share the pictures once I get my paws on them!

Out of Town

So, tonight we are flying back to the East Coast!!!  We will be in Myrtle Beach, NC for the week with family. My Parents rented a beach house for everyone so we can have some good old family fun. Did I mention that we will be having a family portrait session too? Super excited for this!  I must go and finish packing before the cab gets here!

Wedding Day!

Today our friends Anna and Josh are tying the knot! 

 

And.. we will be celebrating all night long on a boat... not just any boat! A Yacht :)

Weekend Love

Weekends are the only time I must share the bed. How is that for a first sentence!! Remember, my Husband is gone during the week for work...So, I have a big bed to myself during the week!  To be completely honest with you...it can be difficult transitioning  and remembering there is someone on the other side..and yes we have separate covers and have the occasional collide :D  So when I came across Love, Actually's blog post it made me laugh..and I could so relate!  I'm thinking of ordering a pair of these pillow cases...bring some humor to the bedroom! 

Lastly, my favorite one so far...Since we talk on the phone as much as possible during the week!

Ran into Chris!

Lastnight we headed up to Hollywood to club Voyeur for our friend's birthday!  We also ran into Chris Mintz-Plasse..mixing up a drink at our table..i quickly swept in for a shot! 

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! I am heading back the movie theater to see Eclipse again! Super excited..call me crazy :D  I'm going out with my neighbor who just had a baby...she is finally able to sneak out of the house for a little! So, of course I couldn't say no! :D  

Why I'm Happy!

I think we all have to stop and smell the roses sometimes... Be grateful for everything that we have and stop complaining about what we don't have! Top 5 reasons why this blogger girl is beaming :)

1. My Husband! This past year I have had some personal ups and downs...he was right there aside of me the whole time..He has definitely transitioned to "Husband" roll and then some, so smoothly! Makes me even more excited about our future together!

2. Ahh-mazing Parents, They never seem to disappoint! They have been my number one supporters my whole life. I am grateful and so incredibly lucky to have both of them in my life. I meet so many people who unfortunately don't have any type of support from one or both of their parents. Again, it makes you put everything in perspective.

3. Friends! Recently, I have found amazing support and friendship from my two neighbors... I've been posting about them recently..It feels so good to find people who you can relate to..and express how you are feeling and not feel judged..and you find them at the least expected places..Well I found them! 

4. Kingston! It's amazing the amount of love a pet can give...and the amount you give back! I am by myself during the week, my Husband works out of town 4-5 days a week. So, it's us two, most of the time.  He brings such happiness to my Husband and I...its ridiculous how much!! Our favorite time is right before bed..he lays in-between us..rolling around...playing..he is too darn cute!

5.Blogger Friends!!!! Of course you guys are on my top 5! I even received a blogger award today..!! "Your Going Places" award, from "Everything According to Erin." Adorable blog..check her out! In order to accept this award, I must share where I think I'll be in 10 years and pass it on to 10 bloggers.  Hopefully living back on the East Coast, in a house with a child! Yep, that simple :D

4th Of July 5K!

I made a goal for myself a little while ago to run a 5k. So today at 8am...we headed over to Redondo Beach to get things started :)

This was taken as we were all lining up! (Camera phone) Tons of people....dogs & kids! Next time we must line up earlier! We had to make our way thru all the walkers...which messed up my time...but nonetheless it was fun!!!

Here we are at the end! Yes, I beat him :) At the very end I put it into high gear and flew across the finish line! We had a great time running...motivating each other. I am anxious for our next 5k!

Remember my friend, Nicole who just had a baby a couple weeks ago? Well, she decided to walk it with other Moms...well doesn't she look ahh-mazing!?  

I feel so accomplished today... I feel so proud of myself...it is such a confident booster! Another thing to cross off my LIST!!
