Our Wedding- The First Dance

We were incredibly nervous to perform our first dance! As I mentioned in this post...Darin and I went to Lisa for a choreographed dance! First of all, this was way out of Darin's comfort zone and I was prepared during the "learning" sessions that this may end at anytime... But, we kept going...and each session was full of laughing...joking around and having a blast! The only thing we were worried about was looking silly...and as my Husband puts it... "Look like tools!" :) In the end, I am really glad that we pushed through and performed our choreographed first dance! Some of our guests were shocked and loved the entertainment! We were soo nervous and relieved when it was over...but at the same time felt accomplished :)

The pictures turned out amazing! The inside of the venue is simply gorgeous and made the shots even more beautiful. Click on the photos to enlarge. Our friends videotaped our dance..and I'm still debating whether I should post it or not... haha!!

We performed our first dance to Jason Mraz, Lucky. It had a fun and upbeat tone and the lyrics were perfect! I am also glad we had our bridal party lined up at the fireplace. It was a perfect spot for all of them. I love the expressions on their faces!!

Are you doing anything special for our first dance?

Our Wedding: Venue & Table Settings

One of the reasons we fell hard for our venue was how beautiful the inside was of Boulder Ridge. The color of the wood...along with the fireplace sold me instantly. The large size windows welcomed the natural light....in the evening the glow of the candles bounced off them...

We had a sweetheart table and we placed a couple strands of lights underneath to make it a bit more special. It was just the right amount of "something" to make our table stand out. Again, those windows in the background just made this photo even morning special.

You can see how the fireplace went from the floor to the ceiling! Our guests had a nice amount of room to move around and get their groove on the dance floor!

Here is another shot showing left of the fireplace. I don't think I would want to be in charge of cleaning all those windows! The DJ was placed upstairs and out of the way. This allowed us more space and no pictures with DJ equipment in the background.

Here is a shot of one of our tables. We had 1/2 the tables with hydrangeas and the other 1/2 had a medium sized white candle in the middle. Using flowers for only 1/2 the tables saved me a lot of money. It was very important to me to have fresh flowers for our tables and so I compromised with myself on this one! We had many compliments on our flowers! They were white with a touch of green which was exactly what I wanted!

Here is a close up of our hydrangeas! We also placed candles on all the tables with hershey kisses!

At the last minute our venue had black tablecloths for us to use for free! I was sooo happy! Another several dollars saved.... We were going to get chair covers but to be honest with you...I think it would have been too much. The tan chairs worked out fine and they didn't stick out that bad. I'm glad we just said the heck with them!

I have some upclose pictures of my placecards, napkins and my moo cards!!!! Yep, I purchased some last minute adorable moo cards :) I will post them very soon!!!

Our Wedding: Rehearsal

On May 29th there were several storms passing through town and by the time our rehearsal began all the rain had vanished! We were able to complete an outside run through of the ceremony!

Below, is where our ceremony took place.

This is a picture of the venue, Boulder Ridge. Our guests simply strolled over to the building for cocktails and appetizers.

Here is a picture of us all lined up and going thru the ceremony. I loved the white chairs!

My brother practicing his reading. I was so proud of him..he did an amazing job! Even during the rehearsal I soaked up every minute!

I LOVE this picture below...me holding onto to my soon to be Husband!

Our rehearsal ended up being so much fun! It was the first time I saw many of the bridal party and family since our bridal shower in March. I am also so happy we were able to capture some shots of rehearsal day!

Boulder Ridge Venue

The venue is set aside from the rest of the resort..It is extremely private with tons of trees and natural beauty. The building has a wrap around deck with amazing views. You follow the cobblestone path to the small gazebo where the ceremony will be held. Yes, I will have to walk down the stairs...and down the stone path to reach my groom. Thats another blog for another day. That FEAR..of walking down the aisle! tripping...etc.. The venue holds up to 200 people comfortably. I believe our goal is 150 guests! So, don't worry there will be plenty of dancing space Stefan Family!

Inside is absolutely gorgeous! Tons of windows allowing natural light to come in and it gives such an open feeling. There is a huge fireplace which will be fun and challenging to decorate and incorporating a romatic touch. It is definately a unique venue and I am so glad we found it!

Another great advantage to this venue is there is absolutely NO travel between ceremony and reception. We want our guests to have a fabulous time and not to worry about driving! After the ceremony they will walk back over to the Ridge for cocktail hour.

thats it for now... xoxo
