When we lived in California, I hit up most of the famous bakeries.. One of those places was the Vanilla Bake Shop in Santa Monica...  I ordered a birthday cake for my Hubby one year and it turned out ahhhmazing! Worth every penny...   So, naturally I follow their work...and when I saw this... My eyes lit up!

From Soaps to Real Life..

Do you watch General Hospital? I've been a loyal fan since the early 90s! This week is Brenda and Sonny's wedding and I must say...I'm loving Brenda's dress and the pale pink accents.. I posted a mini clip from the show. 

Brenda's beautiful gown is by Oscar De La Renta. It is ever so dreamy...

It is an embroidered guipure strapless gown with a pale pink silk taffeta draped bow.

Guipure means, "heavy large pattern decorative lace."

I personally got inspiration from General Hospital when character Kate Howard was getting married. I loved her reception dress and actually came across it over at BCBG Maxazria. You can read more over here. It was my reception dress and  it was also the dress I chose to wear for our Forever After session.

New Years Eve Wedding

When we got engaged...we never gave thought to having a New Years Eve wedding. First, we live on the east coast, so we didn't want to deal with the cold weather and the snow.. but as I think more about it...it definitely would have been an awesome idea. One of my girlfriends told me the other day that they would be planning a NYE wedding and it made me think of this wedding that was just covered by Hazelnut Photography this past new years... Think how much fun the reception would be!!

You would need tons of champagne!

There would be tons of kissing!

You would definitely capture some goofy moments!

Confetti...horns...hats..is a must!

Spotlight!

I had to share with you this pictures of a cake from my friends wedding Oct 3rd. I have never seen this before...there were tiny candles placed on each of the layers.. the staff at the venue kept replacing the candles making sure they were always lit! This one was gorgeous cake!

The candles made this cake very "romantic." Oh and it was delicious too!

Possibility..

My soon to be SIL is in the beginning stages of planning the big day! Currently, she is looking at a Navy/Black/Green combo. Which translates into peacock feather inspiration! I did a post of a wedding a little while back who went with this very theme...this morning I came across this one! I love this one a little more! Possibly due to all the jewel tones used throughout and just a hint of the peacock...take a peak at these stunning images by Kate Triano.

Oh, I remember the early stages of planning our wedding... its amazing how many times your mind changes...I had to seriously stop looking in magazines and click over to WeddingBee!

If my future SIL would go with this theme...I would totally be head over hills thrilled for them!! Until then, I must keep my fingers crossed and lips closed!

Sunny Days

I love Jennifer Skog's work and view it frequently...the photos she captured at Irene and Stew's wedding were gorgeous. I just hope...pray...we have a sunny day like they did! Our venue is centered around tall trees in Gettysburg PA...one word comes to mind when I describe Boulder Ridge...Nature...
