Happy Mums Day!

My Mother has been so amazing these past couple of weeks...She has been driving everywhere helping me get some of the "to dos" checked off the list. So a huge thank you to my Mom :) I wish I was home with her today with the family. It's days like today....when I wished I didn't live across the country! So, a big Happy Mums Day to my Mother and all the Moms out there!!

Today we had our second official dance lesson..and we finally learned the entire choreography! Our instructor Lisa, video taped it for us..so we can remember exactly all the moves! We seriously have to practice now..no messing around :) For the first time today..I used my wedding shoes...which made the dance even harder! It was very difficult to be "graceful." But..after 2 hours of practice I think I nailed it....now..how will I do in my wedding dress!!!

I also located a place back home who will clean my dress and keep it beautiful up to the day of my wedding! YAY! and Whew!

There was also a problem with our rehearsal dinner spot..so now it has been changed to the resort..not what I pictured..but it works...nobody has to drive now...and it will be a pasta meal...which is my favorite..So, stuff is coming together...and I think I'm doing a good job holding it together :)

Rehearsal Dinner

Last Tuesday, the FMIL drove down with us to Gettysburg to scope out a place for the rehearsal dinner. Our first stop was the Fairfield Inn. We each ordered a different plate to taste everything! Prices were decent and the amount food given was definitely not stingy! We were all stuffed by the end of the meals. The owner stopped by and gave us information on the Inn. There is a self-guided tour of the Civil War building. They just celebrated their 250th year celebration. 1757-2007! There are a couple different rooms for dining. The pictures below is the courtyard room which I hope we will be able to have it in...it's nice size and decor...very warm feeling! Original fireplaces too!

In this room...in the brick area..guests would place coins inbetween the brick for good luck...just like the "wishing well." The Inn had so much character..and history... Upstairs, in the self guided tour..they showed where the slaves would hide out...and try to escape. Also, President Eisenhower stayed here and had many dinners... infact they named a room after him in the Inn. The picture below is the Eisenhower room. Yet, it is very beautiful and bright..im afraid of attempting 30 + people in here! Every room has its own distinct characteristics!

After our visit here..and seeing the expression on the FMILs face..I pretty much figured the dinner will be here... We did go see the Gettysburg Hotel..but they were just conference room..nothing special...plain..and I don't want to decorate the whole room! Both of our families are very into history...and this just feels right!
